Privacy Policy — The Bowl

The Bowl ("the app", "we", "us") is a social game where friend groups share a "bowl" of challenges and draw them at random. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices. We keep it short because the app collects little.

Information we collect

• Account information: the email address and password you use to create an account. Passwords are stored securely (hashed) by our authentication provider; we never see your plain password.
• Display names: the name you choose to show within each bowl you join.
• Content you create: the challenges you write and add to a bowl.
• Gameplay records: which challenges were drawn, who drew them, and whether they were marked done, along with timestamps.

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or analytics about how you use your device.

How we use it

Solely to operate the app: to sign you in, to show your bowls and their challenges, to run the draw-and-complete gameplay, and to display names and history to the members of your bowls. We do not use your information for advertising.

How information is shared

• With members of your bowls: your chosen display name for a bowl, the challenges in that bowl, and who drew/completed each challenge are visible to other members of that bowl. Note: who wrote a challenge is kept anonymous.
• With our service provider: the app's data is hosted by Supabase, which provides our database and authentication. They process data on our behalf.
• We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Data retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app (Your Bowls → "delete account"). Deleting your account removes your account and your membership in all bowls. You may also request deletion by contacting us at the address below.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and database access rules, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.

Children

The Bowl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
